Fiber Optic INS for Reusable Rocket & Aerospace Recovery Mission
2026-10-11
Overview
Reusable aerospace vehicles and launch vehicles require ultra-high precision attitude and position data during takeoff, high-speed maneuvering, atmospheric re-entry, and sea recovery. Satellite navigation is easily interrupted by high-speed aerodynamic interference and signal blackout zones, making pure GNSS navigation unavailable throughout the whole flight process. Fiber optic inertial navigation system serves as the core GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) sensing unit to provide full-process autonomous navigation support.
Industry Challenges
Aerospace scenarios feature extreme dynamic overload, high-temperature aerodynamic vibration, short-term GNSS blackout, and high-speed attitude divergence. Traditional MEMS inertial systems have large inherent drift and cannot support long-endurance high-precision orbital return and fixed-point sea recovery missions.
FOG INS Solution
Our fiber optic inertial navigation system adopts zero-wear solid-state optical structure, with ultra-low bias drift and extreme dynamic response capability. It maintains stable high-precision attitude, velocity, and position output throughout the entire high-speed flight and re-entry process without relying on satellite signals. The built-in full-temperature adaptive calibration algorithm effectively suppresses thermal drift caused by aerodynamic heating and ensures consistent and reliable navigation data in extreme aerospace environments.
Key Benefits
Supports full-autonomous navigation during satellite blackout periods. Greatly improves orbital control accuracy and sea landing recovery precision. Enhances the overall reliability and repeatability of reusable aerospace vehicle missions.
